LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven softball team came in at No. 8 in the third edition of the NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings. The NCAA regional rankings are used to determine the teams that qualify for the NCAA Division II Softball Championships.

Six of the top-8 rankings are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, with Charleston (W.V.) and Glenville State making up the other two schools.

The rankings are the final from the NCAA before the tournament field is announced, which is set for Monday.

The Atlantic Region Championships will feature three automatic qualifiers – the tournament champions from the PSAC, MEC and CIAA – and five at-large selections.

Lock Haven finished an impressive regular season with a 29-21 overall record and 17-15 mark in the PSAC East.

Following the regular season, Blaire Balestrini (first-team shortstop), Hailey Irwin (second-team outfielder) and Maci Brodzina (second-team utility) were named to the 2026 PSAC East All-Conference Team.
