The Lycoming College softball team placed a school-record 13 players on the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete team.
The honors recognize softball student-athletes with a 3.5 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year. Over 8,800 college softball players were honored nationwide, including nearly 2,500 at the Division III level.
For the Warriors, the honorees included five Class of 2026 graduates: infielders Claire Alexander (South Williamsport), Alex Eckerson, and Kristen George (Montoursville), plus catcher Sophia Lerner and outfielder Mallory Rodarmel (Loyalsock).
Incoming seniors honored included outfielders Abby Becker and Lauren Miller and pitcher Kendall McAnelly (Williamsport). Incoming junior outfielders Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore) and Serenity Snyder and sophomore outfielders Kendall Cardone (South Williamsport) and Patricia Williams, and pitcher Sage Smeltz were also mentioned.
Alexander, George, Lerner and Rodarmel were all four-time honorees, while Miller earned the award for a third time. McAnelly and Snyder are both two-time honorees.
The 13 honorees from the 2026 team breaks the mark of 12 NFCA Scholar-Athletes garnered in 2023. In 13 years at the helm of Lycoming's softball program, coach Melissa Montoro has coached 91 NFCA Scholar-Athletes.
