Central Mountain took all three singles matches and defeated Williamsport, 4-1, in girls tennis. Again, No. 2 doubles featured a back-and-forth three-set match with a super tiebreaker. Central Mountain’s Kylee Markle and Erin Parker fought back from a set down and won the final two sets, 6-3, 11-9. Addison Lindsay, Lacy Walker and Lane Walker all won at singles. Williamsport’s doubles team of Gianna Viitko and Madelyn Luncy won a straight set match.
There were entertaining doubles matches in Muncy’s 5-0 victory against Bucktail with both matches going the distance. Alaina Krepinevich and Ruth Lauchle won a first-set tiebreaker and came back after dropping the second set to win the third, 10-8. At No. 2 doubles, Aly Eck and Raegen Charles also thundered back after losing the second set, winning the last one, 10-1 to take the match. Zoe Dohl, Lola Fox and Elizabeth Howard all won straight-set singles matches.
• In high school golf, Central Mountain fell to Selinsgrove, 178-184. The Wildcats were led by Nolan Karstetter’s 42, Kai Fravel’s 46, Tucker Brungardt’s 46 and Landen Hill’s 51.
• Nora Withey scored Jersey Shore’s only goal as the Bulldogs suffered a 6-1 loss against Selinsgrove.
