BELLEFONTE - A heartbreaking finish defined Bellefonte football's 2026 opener last Friday, as Tyrone overcame a late 7-6 deficit to edge out the Red Raiders in the defensive affair, 14-7. In Week Two, Bellefonte will look to bounce back on its home turf, playing host to a Forest Hills squad that finished among the top of District 6 Class AAA in 2025.
"This group is resilient. They will bounce back and show up for work on Monday," said Bellefonte football head coach Tony Confer following last Friday's loss.
Last year's matchup was among Bellefonte's deepest 2025 blemishes. On the road, the Red Raiders couldn't get much going on either side of the ball, as the Rangers ran away with a shutout victory, winning 35-0.
Heading into this year's matchup, Bellefonte will be looking to maintain its defensive success from Week One while getting more out of its deep offensive drives.
Against Tyrone, the team made it to the red zone three times and failed to come away with points on all three occasions, with its only touchdown coming on a 70-yard bomb from Alten Howell to Parker Jodun. Howell, Ashten Howell and Breece Hall led an effort that saw the Red Raiders amass 277 offensive yards, but missed opportunities held it back.
Forest Hills did lose key contributors from last year's squad, the most notable example being dual-threat quarterback Xander Richardson, who surpassed 1,000 yards through the air and on the ground in 2025.
Senior Austin Pramuk stepped into his role and saw ups and downs through Week One's 13-10 win over Westmont Hilltop, as he struggled passing wise but turned 15 rushes into 157 yards and two scores. With Forest Hills running the ball 44 times last Friday, expect a considerably run-heavy approach from the Raiders on Friday.
Friday's home opener at Rogers Stadium is set to begin at 7 p.m.
