Central Mountain (0-6) played its best game a week ago at Shikellamy, putting a scare into the five-win Braves and losing, 35-22. The Wildcats reached a season-high in points and also contained an explosive passing game which had put up big numbers in two previous wins.
Linebacker Kole Corman leads the area in tackles for a second straight season and needs 12 to reach 100 for a third consecutive year. Jacob Rembold averages 8.3 tackles per game and took an interception for a touchdown at Warrior Run, while Tanner McCall and Cade Watkins each have two sacks.
Alex Johnson and Gavin Heverly both have returned kickoffs for touchdowns and quarterback Kyle Everett totaled 144 yards with a touchdown at Shikellamy. Heverly also scored and totaled 73 yards on six touches.
Mifflinburg pummeled Warrior Run last week and has scored 119 points during its winning streak. Landon Moser has topped 100 yards rushing in those wins and first-year starting quarterback Brennan Snyder is 73 yards from reaching 1,000. Seven Wildcat receivers have caught touchdowns and the defense generated five interceptions against Warrior Run. The defending District 4 Class AAA champions are second in the standings and Brady Threet and Isaiah Kurtz have scored defensive touchdowns.
