By From staff reports 2 min read

Bellefonte is hoping to ride the momentum of a huge Curtin Bowl win against Bald Eagle Area, 17-10, in overtime into tonight. The Red Raiders (3-3) host Philipsburg-Osceola in Week 7 and hope to move above .500.

"This win is huge. Last week, we laid an egg, and we probably should have won that game," Bellefonte coach Tony Confer said. "Next week, we get P-O coming to our field, so this game was crucial to get us back to .500."

Bellefonte ran for 193 yards as a team as Ashten Howell ran for 79 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while Alten Howell had 15 carries for 45 yards. Alten Howell wasn't able to get a passing game established, however, as Bald Eagle Area held him to just 45 passing yards on 5 for 11 passing with an interception.

He does have 546 passing yards, however, with six touchdowns this year. Ashten Howell also has a team-high 309 rushing yards this year on 69 carries with three touchdowns.

The Red Raiders will look to get the passing and running game working together against Philipsburg-Osceola.

"They have some players," Confer said about Philipsburg-Osceola. "They have some players, and they're always physical, and it's alays a physical game. They're well-coached. So, it'll be a tough game. They always play us tough, we alays play them tough no matter who's good, bad, whatever."

The Mounties are 4-2 and had a four-game winning streak snapped last week with a 33-0 rout at Bellwood-Antis. Philipsburg-Osceola was held to 100 yards as a team as no one ran for more than 30 yards in the loss to Bellwood-Antis. The Mounties also were limited to 83 passing yards.

Senior Archer Baughman has thrown for 326 yards and two touchdowns but has five interceptions. Junior Demarcus Law has run for 640 yards with seven touchdowns this seaosn and senior Aaron Davis has 330 rushing yards.

"We just have to stay healthy, we have to get healthier moving into the last part of our schedule because we've got some tough games," Confer said.
