Bald Eagle girls soccer closes run in District 6 Class AA semis, falls to Central Cambria

EBENSBURG – After upsetting No. 2 seeded Richland in last week’s quarterfinal, Bald Eagle Area girls soccer’s magical run came to an end in Monday’s District 6 Class AA semifinals. One late goal from Central Cambria’s Kaydence Sinclair ended it, as the Eagles fell, 1-0, in a defensive affair.

The goal from Sinclair came with just over five minutes to go in regulation. Prior to that, Bald Eagle goalkeeper Cami Walker had ten saves. Offensively, the Eagles got five shots on goal but none connected.

“The girls played great all game. One defensive breakdown cost us,” said Bald Eagle girls soccer head coach Jared Moore. “We had some good chances, but unfortunately couldn’t cash one in. It was back and forth all night tonight. I am proud of the girls, they played hard tonight.”

With the loss, the Eagles closed the season with an 8-10-2 record.
