Sugar Valley's Conoway advances to Northeast Regional at districts

Sugar Valley sophomore Tobias Conoway secured himself a spot in the Northeast Class AA Regional tournament at Williamsport next week thanks to finishing sixth at 121 pounds on Saturday. The top 7 finishers at each weight in Class AA advanced to regionals. Conoway lost in the first round of the tournament to Milton's Bryson Walter by fall in 38 seconds. LOCK HAVEN — Matt Town USA was on full display on Saturday, as the Lock Haven Bald Eagles played host to the No.17 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. After scoring a few upset wins early on, the Bald Eagles had the Thomas Fieldhouse alight. But a late surge from WVU quieted the crowd as the Mountaineers escaped hostile territory with a 21-15 team victory. WEST CHESTER — The Lock Haven men’s basketball team traveled to West Chester on Saturday and fell to the Golden Rams, 89-67, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East matchup. Lock Haven falls to 9-17 and 5-14 in PSAC East play. West Chester improves to 20-6 and 14-5 in conference play. The Bald Eagles were led by Blake Deegan’s 16 points and his three made triples. WEST CHESTER — The Lock Haven women’s basketball team traveled to West Chester to face the Golden Rams in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest. Strong first and fourth quarters propelled the Bald Eagles to a 65-53 victory. Lock Haven, which is a perfect 14-0 vs. Eastern Division foes, improved to 20-5 overall and 16-3 in the PSAC.
