Bellefonte's Fetters wins District 6 gold in 100 back

STATE COLLEGE — Bellefonte’s Sydney Fetters had an outstanding performance at the District 6 Class AA swimming championships at Penn State over the weekend and left with multiple medals. The Red Raider junior won gold in the 100 back in 1:02.44, dropping more than three seconds off her seeded time, and secured a trip to the PIAA championships in Bucknell in March. Penns Valley’s Eleanor Gillian was right behind Fetters with a time of 1:02.89 for silver as the race had a great finish down the stretch. Sugar Valley's Conoway advances to Northeast Regional at districts

Sugar Valley sophomore Tobias Conoway secured himself a spot in the Northeast Class AA Regional tournament at Williamsport next week thanks to finishing sixth at 121 pounds on Saturday. The top 7 finishers at each weight in Class AA advanced to regionals. Conoway lost in the first round of the tournament to Milton's Bryson Walter by fall in 38 seconds. In the consolations, Conoway earned a first-round victory with a 3-minute fall over Walker Hyde of Williamson before then earning a 12-0 major decision win over Mount Carmel's Brayden Mirarck in the consolation quarterfinals.
