A pontoon hydroplane, a type of safety boat, invented by Simeon Lake, noted submarine expert, is pictured as it had its test at Milford, Connecticut on Sept. 21, 1932. The boat had three point contacts in the pontoons which were synchronized, the rear pontoon acting as a rudder. It was claimed that the boat can turn in its own length at any speed in the water.
