Piper Aviation Museum receives another airplane donation

PHOTOS PROVIDED

The Piper Aviation Museum has received yet another aircraft donation. Theresa Moretti, of Cranston, Rhode Island, made the generous donation of her husband’s 1946 Piper Cub. It took several months of waiting for good weather, but recently museum president Ron Dremel and museum volunteers Chris Logue and Frank Watson flew to Quonset State Airport in Rhode Island to accept the airplane and fly it home. Logue was the pilot for the Cub and with perfect weather and a 6 a.m. launch, he brought the plane back to its birthplace with only one fuel stop along the way. The Cub is now on display on the first floor of the museum. The Piper Aviation Museum, located at 1 Piper Way in Lock Haven, is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Standing in front of the Piper Aviation Museum’s newest Piper airplane are, from left, Ron Dremel, museum president, donor Theresa Moretti and museum volunteers Chris Logue and Frank Watson.

Starting at $3.69/week.
