LOCK HAVEN – The former and historic Piper Aircraft “blue building” is for sale, advertised at $1.75 million.
Owned by Mercer Insurance Group Inc. which operates an office there, the building also serves another tenant, the Davis Insurance Agency.
Located at 100 Mercer Drive, off Race Street, it is part of the Lock Haven Airport Business Park and sits next to Piper Aviation Museum.
Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services in Williamsport lists the property as an office building. It was just recently placed on the market, according to Jeffrey D. Bower, associate broker, who is handling the listing.
A flyer from Mericle advertises it as a “three-story well-maintained corporate office building” on almost five acres that are zoned “industrial park airport.” The two tenants occupy 20 percent of the 32,561-square-foot building. Parking is available for 233 cars, according to the flyer.
The steel construction building was renovated in 2001-02 and has central air-conditioning, gas hot-air heat, and a flat rubber roof. The functional floor plan can accommodate many uses, the flyer states.
Mercer Insurance Group is owned by United Fire Group Inc. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
