Big fire in downtown Lock Haven

Flames and thick black smoke could be seen for miles early today as fire engulfed a vacant structure on Bellefonte Avenue and damaged adjacent businesses. Upstairs apartments were evacuated.

Dozens of firefighters from Clinton, Lycoming and Centre counties were called to battle the blaze and were still playing water on the flames two hours after the fire was reported.

Bellefonte Avenue was blocked off from Vesper Street to West Church Street.
