Hole-In-Ones recorded at local courses

Two individuals earned a hole-in-one at area golf courses recently. On Monday, April 14, Jack Brannan, golf pro at Mountain View Country Club in State College, announced that Steve Byron scored his second career Hole-in-One, while playing with Kevin Treese, at the club. Steve made the Hole-in-One on the 130 yard, number nine hole, using an 8 iron. Lew Magent earned his third Hole-in-One at Belles Springs Golf Course in Mill Hall on April 2. Magent made the Hole-in-One shot on hole 8 using a 7 iron while golfing with Jamie Dunkle, Jack Neal and Dan Fravel.

Bowes family holds 71st reunion

BEECH CREEK — The 71st annual Bowes Reunion was held at the Beech Creek Legion Pavilion on Sunday, Aug.11, 2024. The family was blessed to have local relatives present, as well as family from Florida, Colorado, Maryland and Massachusetts. The family wishes to extend a big thank you to Robert (Tink), Dave and Ron Bowes for securing a new location at such a last minute due to flooding at Bald Eagle State Park, where the reunion had been held previously.
