LOCK HAVEN — This weekend, the Summer Concert Series has partnered with LH JAMS for a weekend of music you won’t want to miss.

Friday night starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street will be The Jaded Lips and Velveeta, and Saturday evening Erich Cawalla and the Uptown Band will be closing out JAMS Fest starting at 7:30 p.m.

Kicking off JAMS on Main Street at 6 p.m., from Altoona, Pa., is The Jaded Lips.

“Homegrown Rock & Soul” — That is both how The Jaded Lips describe their sound as well as their band mantra. This dynamic trio comprised of Mike Wertz (vocals/guitar), Hunter Karns (bass) and Dave Applas (drums), invoke shades of classic and modern rock, garage, blues and R&B. The group has shared the stage with multiple national acts such as The Clarks, Los Lobos, Trouble No More, Keller Williams and played well known music festivals like Flood City Festival.

With the release of debut LP “Lip Service,” they have gone from the basement to the big stage through hard work, tight songcraft and high energy performances earning them rave reviews and a nomination for “Best Rock Band of 2023” by the Central Pennsylvania Music Awards.

Velveeta formed in State College in 1995 as a fun little side project to play some fun, cheesy, 80s music. Little did anyone know that the side project would evolve.

The band expanded their song selection and performed all over the country. From backyard parties to bars and clubs, to weddings and corporate events. Band members include Brent Martin on keys, guitar and vocals; John “Bones” Harper on drums and vocals; and Adam Becker on bass and vocals.

If you are a fan of all things 80s, this is sure to be a concert you won’t want to miss. The set list includes Cyndi Lauper and Billy Idol, to Duran Duran and the B-52’s, from Journey and the Cars to Joan Jett and Guns n’ Roses.

Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., Erich Cawalla and the Uptown Band will be closing out the 10th Annual LH JAMS.

Pennsylvania native Erich Cawalla is a Nationally-Charting Singer, Saxophonist, Recording Artist, and Educator. Erich’s unique talents merge “Old Vegas with Contemporary R&B” in tribute to some of his biggest idols including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Smokey Robinson, David Sanborn, Chet Baker, Frankie Valli, Kenny Rankin and Junior Walker, to name a few.

The Uptown Band was formed with the intent of being able to perform for any type of show, and originally started with a set list of only cover material.

As the group has evolved, they have not only diversified their sound but also incorporated a lot of original material, which inspired the band to become independent recording artists as well. While The Uptown Band has enjoyed an inspiring amount of success in Pennsylvania and the Northeast, the group continues to strive to become a band that performs all around the U.S. and eventually, throughout the world.

With two female vocalists, a powerfully tight horn section and extremely talented performers at every position, The Uptown Band has a unique sound that is hard to contain and they want to share it with as many people as possible.

The concerts are part of the LH JAMS Festival, and will have vendors on Main Street, and outdoor seating at restaurants. For more information and the complete JAMS schedule, check out www.lhjams.org.

It is guaranteed to be a fantastic time, so grab your lawn chairs and head down to Main Street for a weekend of music you won’t want to miss!
