JERSEY SHORE — Jersey Shore Senior High School recently announced Delaney Catherine Burget as the Business and Professional Woman’s September Student of the Month.

The daughter of Robert and Tonya Burget, of Jersey Shore, Delaney has distinguished herself both academically and in extracurricular activities.

A dedicated student, she has been a four-year member of the varsity cheerleading squad and the English Honors Society, currently serving as vice president. She is also actively involved in numerous other organizations, including The Paw Print, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta (where she serves as secretary), National Honors Society and National Spanish Honors Society. Additionally, she plays a key role in her school’s yearbook, serving as editor during her senior year.

In addition to her academic and extracurricular commitments, Delaney has contributed to her community through various volunteer efforts. She has planted trees in Rider Park, made cards for YMCA residents and packed boxes for the PA Food Bank.

Her leadership qualities have been evident since her freshman year, when she was elected class president and also selected for the Homecoming Court. She continued to lead as a member of the Prom Committee in her junior year and participated in the Penn College Leadership Program.

Throughout her high school career, Delaney has earned varsity letters for cheerleading from 10th through 12th grade and was recognized as an All-American cheerleader during her sophomore year.

Outside of school, Delaney enjoys movies, books, podcasts and music and values time spent with family and friends. Since 9th grade, she has worked part-time as a waitress at Henry’s BBQ, showcasing her strong work ethic.

After graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in public communications, with her top choice being Syracuse University. Delaney’s dedication, leadership and academic achievements make her a deserving recipient of the Student of the Month honor.
