Quilt Show

The 2025 Quilt Show, held by the Clinton County Piecemakers Quilt Guild, will be held on Friday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the CU-Lock Haven Rec Center, 550 Railroad St., Lock Haven. Admission is $5 and the event features quilts of all sizes and types on display along with vendors, a boutique, quilt raffle and dream basket raffle.

Blood Drives

The American Red Cross urges people to donate blood now. All blood donors are needed, especially those with type O blood, as this is the universal blood type and is in high demand and needed for patients suffering traumatic injuries, anemia and cancer. Several blood drives will be happening during the next few weeks that donors can attend. Visit the Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED CROSS to arrange an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcomed!

Blood drives will be held on the following dates:

On June 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Flemington First Church of Christ.

On June 23, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Willowbank Building in Bellefonte.

On June 26, from 12:30-6 p.m., at Centre Church in Pleasant Gap.

On June 30, from 12-5:30 p.m., at Watermarke Church, Zion Road, Bellefonte.

On June 30, from 1-6 p.m., at the Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Company

Car Show

On Saturday, plan to attend the 4th Annual Valley Boys Toys Car and Tractor Show and Car Wash held at SVRCS, 236 E. Main St., Loganton. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. you can come to campus and get your car washed by the Athletic Department and then walk across the driveway to view the many vintage cars and tractors on display or bring your own vintage, sport or antique car/truck/tractor to show for the day. Prizes will be awarded in two categories and the FFA will be providing refreshments for purchase. This event is sponsored by the SVRCS Foundation who works to secure and disperse funds for scholarships and other programs that benefit the school. General admission is a $2 donation.

Annual yard sale

Pleasant Gap Lioness Club annual yard sale is being held on June 26 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Pavilion behind the Pleasant Gap American Legion, 435 South Main Street in Pleasant Gap. This has been a huge sale in the past. Most items are not priced; instead, buyers make a fair value donation of their choosing. Donations of sale items will be accepted at the Pavilion on Wednesday, June 25, from 3-7 p.m. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Heisey House to open

The Clinton County Historical Society’s Heisey House Museum is open to visitors on Sundays this month — June 22 and 29. The Heisey has a vast collection of memorabilia and artifacts from the 18th and early 19th centuries as well as displays of lumbering and ice collection tools from those past industries. Our guides are storytellers! Visit the Heisey at 362 W. Water St., in Lock Haven, from 1-3 p.m. on Sundays.
