Eligible kids and teens can choose a pair of free, new sneakers or shoes this month at the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank, inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The Shoe Bank will be open Saturdays, Aug. 16 and 23. Appointments are required. Kids and teens through age 17 (or older if in high school) are eligible if they have Compass and live in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School area. For your time slot, text Diahann at 814-571-5324 (7-9 p.m. weeknights).

A Simple

Request

Dogwood Circle Garden Club requests that those smokers who walk through the garden at the triangle and enjoy the flowers please take your cigarette butts with you instead of dropping them on the sidewalk or flicking them into the plantings. We have enough to do in maintaining the gardens and don’t need to pick up after you, too. Nothing is ever “thrown away,” just put somewhere else for others to deal with.

Wayne Township History for sale

The Wayne Township Recreational Committee is offering their book, “A Township Called Wayne,” for a price of $10. This book will make a nice gift for family and friends, especially historians and those with ties to the Wayne Township community. Visit the Wayne Township Facebook page for more info or call Mona at 570-660-4809 for purchasing arrangements or Linda at 570-660-4466.
