LIONS NEWS

Since the Howard Area Lions will be parking cars all week at Grange Fair, the food distribution normally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18, will be moved to Aug. 25. Mark your calendar of this date change in food distribution.

Food distribution is for those residents who live in the Centre County areas of Blanchard, Howard, Hunter Run, Lamar, Marsh Creek, Monument, Mount Eagle and Orviston, and those living in the Clinton County area of Beech Creek Borough and Beech Creek Township.

Those seeking food bank aid should bring a sturdy box (or boxes) with you as there is always a need for larger boxes for food distributions.

Milesburg Lions Club holds a weekly Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.

FLEA MARKET

Pleasant Gap Fire Company has been holding a weekly flea market each Thursday at their carnival grounds to raise a few bucks to help the fire company during the summer months. Several vendors have been bringing their items to the flea market each week, and we hope that more vendors will take advantage of the outdoor market during the month of August.

Vendors can pick a spot for $20 and set up starting at 7 a.m., weather permitting, each week. Call Mark at 814-355-2753 for vendor info.

The flea market is scheduled to run until 2 p.m., but if customer traffic dwindles many vendors pack up early, so it’s best that you stop by the flea market before lunch time to make sure all the vendors are still open.

The flea market will be open on Thursday during Grange Fair week, so stop by and grab some goodies on your way to the fair! The flea market/fire station location is at 475 Robinson Lane, Pleasant Gap. More info is available by contacting Greg at ggmar1@hotmail.com or call 814-883-3124.

SUMMER CONCERTS

Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be hosting their Summer Concert series each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Each of the concerts is free and open to the public. A love offering is taken each week to further the ministry of both the groups performing and Lamar Lighthouse Camp.

Avenue Trio will be performing in concert on Aug. 10, followed by Redeemed on Aug. 17. The concert series continues on Aug. 24 with New Journey and rounding out the month will be The Silers on Aug. 31.
