Class of 1952
LHHS Class of 1952 will meet at noon on Oct. 15 for a luncheon at Restless Oaks Restaurant in Lock Haven. All classmates and their guests are invited! Please note the location has changed and the meeting will no longer be at Haywoods.
Artist’s work on display
The Clinton County Historical Society will have a reception to open an art exhibit by local artist Xiao-Hua Zhou on Monday, Sept. 22, from 5-7 p.m., at the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water St., Lock Haven. The artist is displaying two series of her work. When you come to view this art showing you will be able to sign up to win a painting of the Farrandsville Furnace, a historic structure which is on the register of historic places. Hua will also be offering a Chinese Tea Ceremony several times during the evening.
Hydrant flushing
Jersey Shore Area Joint Water Authority (JSAJWA) will be conducting hydrant flushing and testing beginning on Monday, Sept. 22, and ending on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Flushing will be done from Monday-Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more info., visit JSAJWA’s website, www.jerseyshorewater.com.
Crack Sealing
The Mill Hall Borough Public Works employees will be sealing road cracks in the borough from Sept. 29 through Oct. 10. Please use caution when encountering the employees on the roadways.
Free book fair and costless closet
St. Mark Lutheran Church, at 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will host its annual Free Book Fair and Costless Closet event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. Hundreds of free books, media, puzzles, games, CDs and DVDS will be available to take, along with gently used and clean clothes. Various foods and baked goods also will be available to purchase during the day. For those attending, you are invited to bring an unexpired food item or monetary donation to help the St. Mark Food Pantry.
Town-wide Yard Sales
Milesburg will be holding their fall yard sales on Oct. 3-4 this year.
Sunday Concerts
Lamar Lighthouse Camp will continue their summer concerts each Sunday evening through the end of September. Each concert will begin at 6 p.m. and the public is invited. The concerts are free, but a love offering is taken each week. 2nd Chance Ministries will be in concert on Sept. 21 and the final Sunday night concert of the season will be on Sept. 28 when GloryWay takes the stage. Hymn Sing
Dunnstown United Methodist Church invites everyone to a Hymn Sing on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at the church. The Twisted Racquet-Tears will be leading the sing-a-long and playing those old familiar tunes that everyone knows and loves that you can sing along to. The event is free and open to the public.
