Halloween

Parade

The Castanea Township Recreation Committee is seeking marching bands, floats, decorated vehicles, troupes, non-profits, dance schools, costumed walkers and police/fire/safety/EMS vehicles for the Annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. The parade will be running the length of Brown Street and ending at the Castanea fire company on McElhattan Avenue. A children’s magic show is planned at the Fire Company following the parade. Prizes are awarded but pre-registration is necessary. Contact Rick Schulze, chairperson of the recreation committee, at fschulze@comcast.net. Rain date for the parade is Monday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m.

No Kings Rally

A No Kings Rally will be held in Triangle Park on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

A Simple

Request

Dogwood Circle Garden Club requests that those smokers who walk through the garden at the triangle and enjoy the flowers please take your cigarette butts with you instead of dropping them on the sidewalk or flicking them into the plantings. We have enough to do in maintaining the gardens and don’t need to pick up after you, too. Nothing is ever “thrown away,” just put somewhere else for others to deal with.
