SATURDAY
— Porter Township Farmer’s Breakfasts are held the first Saturday of each month through April. Held at the community building in Lamar, the breakfast is served from 7-10 a.m. The breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free. All proceeds from the farmer’s breakfast will be put towards helping community members and giving back.
— The Social Action Committee at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown is having a Holiday Open House from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Craft vendors, Christmas items, food, baked goods and photo ops with Mr. and Mrs. Claus with be available. Proceeds benefit those in the community.
— Friends and neighbors are invited to celebrate Verna Dotterer’s 100th birthday! The Nittany Valley Fire Company will host an open house-style gathering from 1 to 4 p.m. for anyone wishing to stop by and offer birthday wishes.
— Curtin Village invites the community to celebrate the season at its annual Christmas at Curtin holiday event today and on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1-3 p.m. This festive two-day tradition combines family fun with community spirit while supporting the preservation of one of Pennsylvania’s most significant historic sites. Today, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., families can enjoy free holiday photos in the decorated parlors, kitchen and outdoors with the Curtin Excursion Wagon and other photo opportunities. Photos in the parlor are taken by a PSU photographer. Guests can also take their own photos/videos. Santa will also be there! Free children’s crafts will be available in the mansion, with adult supervision required. Donations are encouraged to support preservation efforts.
SUNDAY
— Christmas at Curtin Village, 1-3 p.m. Guests are invited to a ticketed, adult-focused holiday reception featuring a festive reading, wine, food and a special Curtin Village gift. Reservations may be made by emailing curtinvillage@gmail.com with the number in your party. Tickets are $35 for individuals and $60 for couples.
— Wingate Faith Church’s Tree lighting celebration, 4-5 p.m. All are invited. Come for cookies and hot cocoa and to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. At 5 p.m., everyone will gather around the large tree on the front lawn to sing Christmas carols and light up the tree. Dress warm! The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, to the rear of the Sheetz in Wingate and beside Wingate Elementary. Call Janette at 814-883-0893 for info.
MONDAY
— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.
TUESDAY
— KBR Bingo holds Cash Bingo every Tuesday night, 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Call Deb at 570-660-2647.
— Repasz Band Holiday Concert is set for 7:30 p.m., at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Not only does the program focus on bell-related songs, but also, for two tunes, the band will be joined onstage by the handbell choir from Covenant Central Presbyterian Church in Williamsport. The concert is free and open to the public. “Bells are a festive symbol of Christmas joy and a central part of its decorations and music,” says Repasz conductor Jeff Dent.
— The Alzheimer’s and Caregivers’ Support Group will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Fran Decker, MSW, a geriatric social worker and facilitator of the support group, will give a presentation on the different types of dementia and early warning signs of dementia. There will also be a time of sharing concerns about caring for a loved one with a memory loss. Educational materials from the Alzheimer’s Association will be provided.
WEDNESDAY
— St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open from 9-11 a.m. This will be the only distribution during December. Call 570-726-7460 for info.
— Blood Drive, 1-6 p.m., at Cedar Heights BIC Church, Mill Hall.
— The Pennsylvania Happy Travelers will meet at 3 p.m., at the Lock Haven STEP Center, 124 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven. Officers for 2026 will be elected at this meeting. The club’s Holiday Party is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 1 p.m., at Brown’s Hill Tavern, 717 Brown’s Hill Road, Mill Hall. Space is limited so reservations are required. THURSDAY
— The Lock Haven Regatta Foundation will hold their Holiday Dinner for Seniors on Dec. 14, 2025. There will be two seatings, at 12 and 2 p.m. Takeout meals may be picked up between 1-1:30 p.m. and 2:30-3 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the Step Office at 570-858-5800 by end of business today. Tickets will be required for to go meals, and can be collected at the Step Office.
