Saturday, Jan. 3
— Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club’s youth Pennsylvania snowmobile safety course will be conducted at the Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club lodge, which is located approximately 6 miles north of Haneyville, and directly across Route 44 from Pat Reeders Tavern in Clinton County. Parents are to accompany their children to registration so that the required forms may be completed. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; class starts promptly at 9 a.m. and will end no-later-than 3 p.m.Class participants qualify for their certificate by completing their workbooks and achieving a score of 80 percent or better on the final examination. Students receive their safety certificates at the end of the course.

— Porter Township Farmer’s Breakfasts are held the first Saturday of each month through April. Held at the community building in Lamar, the breakfast is served from 7-10 a.m. The breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free. All proceeds from the farmer’s breakfast will be put towards helping community members and giving back.
— KBR Bingo and More will hold KBR Super Bingo, tickets are $30. In addition to the Bingo there is usually a basket raffle, rip tickets and good food! Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. KBR Bingo is located on the third floor of the Piper Museum Building in Lock Haven. Elevator service is provided! Call Deb at 570-660-2647 for info.
Sunday, Jan. 4
— KBR Bingo and More will hold a benefit Bingo for baby Luke (Courter-Toner) in his fight against neuroblastoma. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by checking the KBR Bingo Facebook page. In addition to the Bingo there is usually a basket raffle, rip tickets and good food! KBR Bingo is located on the third floor of the Piper Museum Building in Lock Haven. Elevator service is provided! Monday, Jan. 5
— Howard Area Lions Food Bank distribution, noon to 3 p.m., at former Beech Creek Elementary School. Bring a sturdy box with you for future distributions.
— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.
Tuesday, Jan. 6
— Howard Area Lions monthly dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Church of Christ in Jacksonville.
— KBR Bingo holds Cash Bingo every Tuesday night, 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Call Deb at 570-660-2647.
Wednesday, Jan. 7
— Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting, noon, at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall. Use the rear ramp entrance. Anyone who crochets or knits is invited to join us for the meeting to see all the creative and colorful items that our needleworkers have made over the past month. Thursday, Jan. 8
— BEN Class of 1961 will have a luncheon at Haywood’s at 11:30 a.m. All classmates and guests are invited.
— Blood Drive, 12:30-6 p.m., at Centre Church in Pleasant Gap.
— Food distribution will be from 4-6 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. There aren’t any income guidelines but a few questions are asked for those attending for the first time. Normally the food distribution is held on the first Thursday of each month, but since that would fall on the New Year’s holiday the distribution has been moved. Friday, Jan. 9
— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Special guns and ammo sale starts at 5:30 p.m.
— Titan Market’s Winter Carnival, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Games, crafts, food, dime pitch and more!
Titan Market is located at 2042 Axemann Road, Bellefonte, in the former Cerro building.
— Light of the World Free Clothing Bank at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 145 W. Linn St., Bellefonte. Free clothing in all sizes, bedding, shoes, coats and more are available from 2:30-5 p.m. Check the church website for weather cancellations or call Cathy at 814-355-4983.
