Wayne Twp. Rec Committee looks back on holiday activities; shares upcoming events
McELHATTAN — The Wayne Township recreation committee in conjunction with the Wayne Township supervisors held numerous events over the holiday season.
ELF CONTEST WINNERS
The recreation committee along with Truck Lite community service committee hid elves throughout the nature park and asked youth to walk the park and see how many they could find.
The winners of the elf contest were Raelynn Ripka, who came closest to the amount, and Raelynn Klinefelter who came in second. Congratulations to all who participated. We look forward to the next contest at the nature park.
HOME DECOR CONTEST
The township also ran a home decorating contest. This year’s winners were Raymond and Brenda Clymer in first place; Shirley Wolfe in second place; and Sierra Williams in third place. An honorable mention went to Lacey Weaver, Noah Raco and Russ Johnson. In addition to that there were several that had won previously that did a fantastic job of decorating.

CONTEST
The committee also had a tree decorating contest in the nature park with Truck Lite community service group taking first place, Clinton Lycoming Nurses Honor Guard with their memorial tree took second place and Raymond office took third.
ICE SKATING PARTY
The recreation committee will be holding an ice-skating party on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the rink near the baseball field at 2 McKinney Road, Lock Haven. There will be ice-skating, pizza, cookies and hot chocolate. This event is sponsored by the Wayne Township supervisors, Weis Markets and the recreation committee. It will be a fun time for the family so please join members of the committee. Some skates are available.
VALENTINE’S PET PHOTOS
On Saturday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the nature park, the recreation committee is sponsoring a Valentine’s Pet Photo. The photographer is provided with the cost being a $5 donation for one photo posted to Facebook. Donations will be made to the Appalachian Pug Rescue and The Safe House!
FIELD FENCE BANNERS
The recreation committee is selling ball field fence banners. This is a great way to promote your organization or business. Families and individuals are also welcome to participate.
