Breakfasts

cancelled

The Farmer’s Breakfast at the Porter Township community building in Lamar on March 7 is being cancelled since a Breakfast Benefit for Ben Stoltzfus is planned for March 21, from 7-11 a.m. The breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free.

There will not be a breakfast on April 4 because of the Easter weekend.

Soup Sale

St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a soup sale Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. Soups being offered are chicken corn, vegetable beef and ham and bean. The soup is $8 a quart and may be picked up at the church on March 7. Orders may be placed by calling the church office, on or before March 1, at 570-748-5741 and leave a message on the message machine.

Country Jam

The Back Porch String Band’s Country Jam will be held on Sunday, March 22, from 2-6 p.m., at the Yearick Center/Howard fire hall. Country Jam is held the fourth Sunday afternoon of each month except in December. The afternoon of music is free, and those attending should bring a snack to share with others there. A hat is passed for you to contribute a few dollars to thank the Howard Fire Company for allowing the folks to gather there for Country Jam each month.
