Thursday, Feb. 26
— State Representative Paul Takac and staff will host free clinics to help folks apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program and the Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program at the Howard United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Staff will also be able to provide a host of other free services. — LHHS and ICHS Classes of 1964 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. at the Valley Hotel in Mill Hall. All classmates and their guests are invited to attend. Call Donna at 570-748-6821 for info.
— Howard Area Lions Bingo at the Beech Creek Fire social hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.
— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 27
— The Salvation Army “Closet of Care” Program is a free clothing program open to anyone in the community. The Closet of Care will be open from 9-11 a.m. The program relies solely on donations from the community. If you are interested in donating clothing for the program, donations are accepted the last full week of the month on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring donations inside of the building. Do not leave donations in the parking lot or by the doors. Clothing items accepted include gently used men’s, women’s, children and infant clothing as well as shoes. Please refrain from donating undergarments, including socks, unless they are new in the package. If you would like more information about the program or donating items, please call The Salvation Army office at 570-748-2951.
— Blood Drive, 12-4:30 p.m., at Best Western Hotel, E. Walnut St., Lock Haven.
–KBR Bingo and More’s straight line Bingo each Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Regular game payouts are $50! Come join the fun! KBR Bingo is located in the Piper Museum Building with elevator service to the 3rd floor Bingo hall. Call Deb at 570-660-2647 for info.
— Freedom Life Church is inviting fathers and father-figures to step into a meaningful evening of celebration and connection at the Father-Daughter Sweetheart Ball, from 7-8 p.m., at the church’s Centre County Campus, 113 Sunset Acres, Bellefonte. Registration is required by calling the church at 814-355-4947.
— Wingate Faith Church’s Chicken and Waffles supper, 4-6:30 p.m., at the church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, behind the Sheetz store in Wingate. Meals are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 6-12 years. Younger kiddos get to eat free! 814-883-0893 for more info.
— Folks of the community are invited to attend the 100-year celebration of Black History Month at the Beads & Brilliance Gala at 3 Dots Downtown, 137 E. Beaver Ave., State College. The event will run from 6-9 p.m. and will feature history, food, dancing and fundraising for the 1865 Freedom Legacy Scholarship, which last year was awarded to a Bellefonte High School graduate
— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
