TODAY

— The Friends of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail (BEVT) will meet at 7 p.m. at the Piper Building in Lock Haven. More members and volunteers are needed since there are projects to do with continued efforts underway to expand the trail to connect with the Pine Creek Rails to Trails and into the city. Improvements to continue to maintain the existing trail also are planned. Anyone interested in finding out more or helping with ongoing efforts is welcome to attend the meeting and to become a member.

— Clinton County of PA Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water St., Lock Haven. Joby Topper, librarian of the Stevenson Library at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven, will give a presentation on the history of the library and what resources are available for use in genealogical research. The presentation is free to the public.

— The Alzheimer’s and Caregivers’ Support Group will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. There is convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance. The free meeting will be a time of sharing concerns about caring for a loved one with a memory loss and to provide educational materials from the Alzheimer’s Association, co-sponsors of the support group in conjunction with Covenant United Methodist Church. The group will also discuss topics of interest for future meetings. Sitter service can be provided to the person with dementia at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.

TOMORROW

— St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 9-11 a.m. No documentation is required. You may call the church at 570-748-7932 or 570-726-7460. People may call these numbers at any time for any type of assistance they may need.

— Marion Township Supervisors meeting, 6:30 p.m., at the township building in Jacksonville.

THURSDAY

— Howard Area Lions Bingo at the Beech Creek Fire social hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.

— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.

— BEN Class of 1961 will be having their luncheon at Haywood’s at 11:30 a.m. All classmates and guests invited and encouraged to attend.

— Join a forestry extension educator for a relaxed, guided walk through a scenic Bald Eagle State Park as you explore the diversity of common forest plants and learn to recognize their key identifying features. Designed for beginners and those looking to refresh their skills, this engaging experience offers time to ask questions, observe fine details and deepen your connection to the forest. The walks will cover up to 0.5 miles on gentle paths, with restrooms available nearby. The walks are at two different times, 2-3:30 p.m. and again from 4:30-6 p.m. Meet at Pavilion 6. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.

FRIDAY

— Sugar Valley Lions Club’s Friday night Cash Bingo, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

— KBR Bingo and More’s straight line Bingo each Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Regular game payouts are $50! Come join the fun! KBR Bingo is located in the Piper Museum Building with elevator service to the 3rd floor Bingo hall. Call Deb at 570-660-2647 for info.

— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

— Jacksonville Cemetery clean-up will begin at 9 a.m. A rain date of Saturday, March 21, starting at 9 a.m., has also been scheduled (if needed). Many hands make light work, so we’d like to have some volunteers come out and help to remove old and faded decorations from the graves. Please be sure to remove any decorations that you want to keep from the gravesites before the clean-up date. Please don’t put any new decorations on until after the clean-up is completed.

— Two SVRCS students need your support in raising funds for their trip with fellow students to the Dominican Republic in June. Marrin Clester and Colbie Bellemy are holding a fundraising Bingo with KBR Bingo, at the Piper Museum Building in Lock Haven. There will be a 50/50, Chinese auction, rip tickets and food. Tickets in advance are $20 and $25 at the door.

— The BENV Kiwanis Club will be holding their “Pot of Gold” Kash Bash in the Sons and Daughters of Italy Courtyard, Lock Haven.

— Black Moshannon State Park will give you the chance to view wildlife, waterfowl and birds of prey using a spotting scope during a Wildlife Watch. From 9-11 a.m., meet at the observation deck on the bog trail to look for wildlife, such as migrating waterfowl and birds of prey. This program will be cancelled if it is snowing or raining.

— Joe Humphreys, Mac Brown, Jason Randall, George Daniel, Tim Cammisa and Whitney Gould are among the instructors, demonstrators or seminar leaders during the Fly Fishing Show, at the Lancaster County Convention Center, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Fly Fishing Show® admission is $20 for one day, $35 for two days. Children under 5 are free as are Boy and Girl Scouts in uniform. Children ages 6-12 are $5. Active military with an ID are $10.
