Monday, March 16
— Howard Area Lions Food Bank distribution, noon to 3 p.m., at the former Beech Creek Elementary. Bring a large, sturdy box(es) with you. Residents who live in Howard Borough and Boggs, Curtin, Liberty, Marion and Walker Townships in Centre County as well as those who live in Beech Creek Borough and Beech Creek Township in Clinton County are welcome to come for the free food distributions.
— Art Class, 4:30-6 p.m., at Friendship Community Library in Beech Creek. George Stefanski will be the class instructor. Class is free! Walk-ins are welcome! — Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station at 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.

— Colonel Hugh White / Colonel John Chatham DAR is sponsoring a presentation by Bill Reynolds LTC (retired) at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at the Ross Library, third floor (elevator available).
— The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, will be meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Kathy Arndt from the Clinton County Historical Society will give a talk on the 90th anniversary of the March 17, 1936, flood in Lock Haven. Participants are encouraged to share their remembrances of this monumental flood and the public is invited to hear this presentation starting at 1 p.m.
— Movie night at Friendship Community Library, Beech Creek. Movie starts at 4:30. Bring your own snacks and drinks (in spill proof containers). Bring a blanket to sit on the floor. — Community members across Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Mifflin counties are invited to celebrate the power of small business during National SBDC Day from 1-3 p.m.
Hosted by the Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the event will spotlight Nittany Valley Holistic Health — a multi-service, collaborative wellness space that supports both whole-person care and entrepreneurial growth. Community members interested in attending this event can register on the event page. — BENV Kiwanis will be celebrating the PA Kiwanis District “READING ACROSS PA” with the Clinton County Housing Authority. This event will be held at the John Yost Community Center from 6-7 p.m. This is an event for reading, crafts and a good time learning about the ocean! Pizza, snacks and drinks are included. — Clinton County Veterans Affairs MilitaryShare distribution is from 9-11 a.m. at the Castanea Fire Co. picnic grounds. For more info call the CCVA office at 570-893-4339. Military Share distribution is scheduled for the third Thursday of each month from 9-11 a.m.
— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will have the free Mobile Food Pantry at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone may come and receive food. This distribution is being administered by the New Love Center in Jersey Shore. The food distribution will be held on the third Thursday of the month at the church,, 217 Main St., Beech Creek.

— Cemetery Clean-ups will be happening now that the weather is getting nicer. If there are decorations on graves that you want to keep you should plan to remove those decorations promptly before clean-up begins.
Schencks Cemetery Association in Howard Township, Centre County, wants to remind patrons that old and worn decorations must be removed from graves by March 28 for clean-up to begin. Any decorations that you want to keep should be removed prior to the clean-up! Please do not put Easter decorations on the graves until after the clean-up has been handled. .
Saturday, March 21
— Breakfast and benefit raffle for Mike Neff at Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club in Woolrich. An all you can eat breakfast is served from 7-11 a.m. Adult meals are $10 and $6 for those 6-12 years. Little tykes eat free. During the breakfast there will be a basket raffle and 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to Mike Neff who has been unable to work since having a liver transplant operation. Please come out and support both the cycle club and Mike Neff.
— Breakfast and Bake Sale to benefit Ben Stoltzfus, 7-11 a.m., at the Porter Townshp Community Building, old Lamar Elementary, 216 Spring Run Road, Mill Hall. Ben, the former Nittany Valley Fire Chief, is battling cancer and hasn’t been able to work. The hearty breakfast will be $13 for adults; $6 for ages 6-12 and younger kiddos eat free. Volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen during the breakfast and to provide an assortment of Baked Goods to sell. Call Nancy at 814-571-5168 for more info.
— The Sneaker Bank at Milesburg United Methodist Church will be open from 9-11 a.m. Sneakers are provided to children in the BEA and Bellefonte School Districts.
— Logan Grange # 109 will have a Drive-thru Soup Sale from 10 a.m. until noon (or until all sold out), at the Grange Hall at 122 N. Main St., Pleasant Gap. The soup will be $9 per quart and comes in the flavors of chicken corn noodle and cheddar and broccoli along with ham pot pie. — Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will be holding its Annual Turkey Dinner from 4-6 p.m., or until sold out. The take-out only dinner will feature roast turkey, filling, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls and homemade desserts. — The Shoe Bank will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments are required. Eligible kids and teens may come and choose a pair of new sneakers or shoes and some new socks. They can also choose books to own. Everything is free! The Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The shoe room is set up like a store where kids are the customers. Sneakers and other shoes are available in all full sizes, as well as many half sizes.
