Herman named BPW’s Student of the Month for January

JERSEY SHORE — Julia Grace Herman, daughter of Pamela and Joseph Herman, of Salladasburg, has been selected as the January 2026 Business and Professional Women Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Julia is recognized for her strong leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to school and community involvement.
Throughout her high school career, Julia has been highly active in extracurricular activities. As a freshman, she participated in tennis, FBLA, student council, softball, homecoming committee and served as a class officer. During her sophomore year, she continued her involvement in tennis and student council while adding prom committee, Red Cross Club, National English Honor Society (NEHS) and Mu Alpha Theta.
In her junior year, Julia remained dedicated to tennis, student council, homecoming committee and class officer responsibilities. She also served as Red Cross Club Vice President and Prom Committee Chair and became a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and National Spanish Honor Society (NSHS).
As a senior, she continues her involvement in tennis, student council, homecoming committee, Red Cross Club, NEHS, Mu Alpha Theta, NHS and NSHS.
Julia has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout high school. She served as Class President during her freshman and sophomore years and as Class Vice President during her junior year. She chaired the Prom Committee during both her sophomore and junior years and now serves as Tennis Team Captain during her senior year.
Outside of school, Julia works as a waitress and host at the Shore Diner and also babysits and dog sits. She has been nominated for Homecoming Court and has earned her varsity letter in tennis.
In her free time, Julia enjoys painting, gardening, swimming, fishing and reading.
Julia is committed to Elizabethtown College’s accelerated Physician Assistant program, where she plans to pursue a career as a dermatology PA-C. Her leadership, academic dedication and clear professional focus make her a very deserving recipient of the January 2026 Business and Professional Women Student of the Month honor.
