Financial wellness the focus of 10-week Penn State webinar series
UNIVERSITY PARK — Families, farmers, small business owners and anyone interested in financial wellness and improving money management skills can learn more about these topics through a Penn State Extension webinar series.
The “Your Money Matters: 10 Weeks to Financial Wellness” series, all scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., will include the following webinars:
— “Financial Goal Setting,” Nov. 10. Learn the importance of goal setting, create SMART goals, and discover steps and tips to set and achieve financial goals.
— “Building a Budget,” Nov. 17. Learn how to understand budgeting, outline its steps and create a personal budget.
— “Credit Confidence,” Nov. 24. Understand the pros and cons of credit cards, how to analyze billing statements, credit reports, and FICO scores and recognize credit card warning signs.
— “Debt Management Essentials,” Dec. 1. Learn to spot signs of uncontrollable debt, explore debt management solutions and avoid consumer debt scams.
— “Identity Theft Protection,” Dec. 8. Understand identity theft, how to prevent it, spot warning signs and recover if affected.
— “Financial Decluttering,” Jan. 5, 2026. Identify financial clutter, understand its impact, and use budgeting and tax tools to get organized.
— “Balance Money and Nutrition,” Jan. 12, 2026. Understand how money and nutrition management relate, what influences food choices and how to shop for healthy food on a budget.
— “Effective Money Relationships,” Jan. 19, 2026. Discover money personalities, assess financial relationships and find resources for discussing money with others.
— “Retirement Planning,” Jan. 26, 2026. Learn about retirement plans, compare IRAs, create a retirement planning guide and forecast a retirement budget.
— “Passing on Personal Possessions,” Feb. 2, 2026. Explore how to identify rightful heirs, ensure fairness and respect the personal meaning of sentimental items when passing them on.
Each webinar carries a registration fee of $10. Registration deadlines vary by event. Registration is required to receive links to access the webinars. A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. Participants can access the recording for six months from the event date.
