STATE COLLEGE –Samantha Cottrill, CRNP, has joined the Mount Nittany Physician Group OB/GYN.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Mount Nittany Health family,” says Cottrill. “Having grown up close by and attending Penn State, I’ve always wanted to stay local and am happy to have this opportunity.”

Cottrill earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from The Pennsylvania State University, where she was chosen by faculty as student marshal, graduating with highest distinction. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing: Women’s Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Cottrill is the recipient of a number of academic honors from Penn State, including the President’s Freshman Award for full-time freshmen who maintain a cumulative 4.0 grade point average; The Evan Pugh Scholar Award, given to juniors with a minimum 3.99 grade point average who are in the upper 0.5 percent of their junior class; and the Beta Sigma chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Academic Achievement Award given to the College of Nursing graduate with the highest grade point average upon graduation.

“I want my patients to have a voice in their healthcare journey and to provide them with the information they need to make healthy, individualized decisions. Practicing preventative medicine is also important to me,” says Cottrill.

Outside of the office, Cottrill enjoys spending quality family time with her husband, John, and their four-month-old son, Arlo.
