LOCK HAVEN — Two Maidens Cafe & Tea Room is continuously looking to bring in a variety of new items for shoppers, a goal owners Ali Arico and Aly Di Costanzo said they’ve begun focusing on after over a year since opening the store’s doors.
“After our first year in business we’ve been focusing on rotating our inventory. Bringing in the things we like the best. It’s always changing.”
The shop, which sells a wide range of products from jewelry and other accessories, books, crystals, local artistry, tapestries, clothing and much, much more, was first opened in 2022 by the pair.
At the time, Arico and Di Costanzo said the shop reflected each of their personalities and favorite things that others in the community enjoy, too.
The goal to provide unique inventory continues for the duo.

In particular, Di Costanzo noted the new costume pieces that would be coming in soon.
“We’re bringing in new costume pieces that are perfect for summer events and fairies,” she said.
In terms of its clothing line, Arico noted the items in the shop are purchased through Fair Trade vendors.
“We’re always looking to bring in a variety of inclusive sizing,” she added. “If there’s something you’d want in your size, we’ll look to find it and order it in.”
The shop also sells corsets which can be ordered in a custom size for those interested.

“We custom order anything,” Arico said of their inventory. “Aly even does custom starter kits for spiritual practices and alternative religions.”
The shop also features a “local window” that features products by six local artists.
“We’re happy to bring in even more local artists to showcase,” Di Costanzo said.
Though the shop is mostly a retail space, Di Costanzo and Arico noted they’re happy to showcase a variety of art — from digital art, mixed media, paintings, books and more. In the past, Two Maidens has even hosted book signings, something the pair hope to continue for local artists.
“We’re really focused on community,” Di Costanzo said.

Arico noted many customers who have come to the store noted the pair have created an environment where they can feel safe to be themselves.
“The customers are glad we’re here and have a ‘space like this.’ They can be their weird selves,” she said.
Two Maidens, of course, wouldn’t be what it is today without its staple items — tea and coffees.
The menu features a wide range of items, with the teas in particular drawing their names from Greek goddesses.
“We’re always blending more teas and varieties when we get the urge,” Di Costanzo said.
Arico noted the teas are typically blended for a purpose, whether it’s to diminish nausea, pain, to center yourself or more.
Di Costanzo is often the one to try out new recipes to see what works best.
“Aly is the mad genius with the teas,” Arico said.
Recently, Di Costanzo created a new blend — the Athena — after college students asked if they had a tea which could help them focus through studying sessions.
“The Athena is for cognitive function. We had a lot of students asking about if we had something for that,” Arico explained.
Outside of its teas, the shop also offers a variety of coffees, lattes and more.
Both owners noted their employee, Ashley, is constantly coming up with new drink ideas to add to the menu.
“And there’s a revolving secret menu,” Arico said. “We’re coming up with new ones everyday.”
As it stands, the pair said there are about 20 to 30 custom drinks on the menu.
Di Costanzo noted the coffee is made from beans roasted by a small, women owned business.
“They’re the best coffee beans I’ve ever had,” she said.
Whether you’re coming to Two Maidens Cafe & Tea Room to browse the wide selection of items for sale, or to pick up a tea or coffee, Arico and Di Costanzo hope they’ve created a space for you to feel welcome and comfortable.
Two Maidens is open Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday.
