White Knight’s Game Room in the Haven will open its doors officially on Thursday, Dec. 1. The storefront is located at 110 E. Main St. and will feature classic trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and more. Miniatures games like Warhammer and other tabletop roleplaying games (RPGS) such as classics like Dungeons and Dragons will also be featured.

“We’re really trying to build a nice, clean space for the community to come play some games,” owner Alex Di Costanzo said.

White Knight’s Game Room in the Haven will feature a public game space along with a private room for people to use.

“It’s a nice, quiet place to get together and play,” Di Costanzo said.

The front portion of the store is outfitted with a large amount of shelves, each filled to the brim with a variety of products, from Magic: The Gathering booster packs, expansions and more; Yu-Gi-Oh; the ever-popular Pokemon cards and accessories; gaming mats and card sleeves; puzzles; board games; Dungeons and Dragons products; real-life armor pieces; plushies and much more.

There’s something for everyone who enjoys games.

Near the center of the space is the private game room, which offers ample space for small campaigns or game play — and at the back of the building is a larger, communal space, where Di Costanzo has placed tables for customers.

Di Costanzo noted that the game room won’t be dabbling in any video games or anything similar.

“We’re sticking strictly with tabletop, RPGs and things like that,” he said.

The store will serve as a branch off from White Knight’s Game Room in Williamsport — owned by Erik Guthrie and his wife, Kathryn.

The facility, located in the Pajama Factory, is the largest provider of RPGs, CCGs, tabletop games, miniatures, Magic singles, dice and wargame supplies in the area. Erik and Kathryn have been running the store for 22 years, he said.

Just like the original location, Guthrie and Di Costanzo plan to grow the space, providing tournaments and other events as well. Those will be available on Facebook through White Knight’s page, along with other sub-pages that will be created at a later date.

Guthrie said that just like his space in Williamsport, he wants to create something special.

“We’re trying to make a quality space for those who enjoy tabletop games. The White Knight is kind of a motto. We want people to be kind, respectful while having fun,” he said.

White Night’s Game Room in the Haven will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
