MILL HALL — Central Mountain High School Drama Club passes through the wardrobe and into Narnia for their fall play, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” from Nov. 14-16. Based on the beloved novel at the heart of C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and adapted by Joseph Robinette, is a perfect show for all ages.
In September of 1940, London lives under the threat of the Blitz.
When the Pevensie siblings; Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are evacuated to the countryside to stay with a kind old professor, they think they are in for a safe, relaxing time, if a bit boring.
However when Lucy discovers a wardrobe in the old house it is clear that their adventures are just beginning.
On the other side of the wardrobe is the magical world of Narnia. The children discover a beautiful snow covered forest inhabited by unicorns, centaurs and other mystical creatures, but there’s a problem. In Narnia it’s always winter but never Christmas because of the White Witch… ehm… Queen of Narnia.
Their passage through the wardrobe brings them from one war and straight to the center of another as the citizens of Narnia turn to them to fulfill the prophecy and end the reign of the witch.
Zoe McElroy, Katherine Farrall, Thomas Geyer and Kenzi Boyle bring Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy to life, while Chloe Corbin as Aslan faces off against Connor Kleckner as the White Witch. The rest of the cast includes Lexie Bowman, Christiana Gladden, Adalind Parker, James Turner, Cecilia Flaherty, Sarah Long, Claire Walker, Tucker Taylor, Myah Slota, Olivia Reeder, Sam Embick, Ella Hamilton, Coralie Baker, Brooklyn Goldy and a special appearance by Dr. Frank Redmon.
Directed by Ericka Conklin with assistance and stage management from Kaidyn Rogers, the production is student designed and the team includes Sarah Long (scenic design), Tucker Taylor (lead carpenter), Katherine Farrall (props design), Chloe Corbin (costume design), and Thomas Geyer (sound design).
The show will take place at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 15 and 16 at the Central Mountain High School auditorium, 64 Keystone Central Drive, Mill Hall. It runs about an hour and 30 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
Cost for tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students and Drama Club alumni. Tickets may be purchased cash-only at the door or online at https://sfnd.io/lionwitchwardrobecmhs.
A concession stand will be offered, which features Enchanted Hot Chocolate. The house opens 30 minutes prior to showtime.
