LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Economic Partnership unveiled an oversized “I Love Clinton County” sign, their newest addition to the Lock Haven boat launch, thanks to the effort and planning put in by former Tourism Director Kira Rosamilia, on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Lockport Boat Launch.

Woodward Township supervisors Kyle Coleman, John Barth and Michael Fetzer joined members of the CCEP Jason Fitzgerald, CEO; Megan Wheeler, Chris Miller and Melissa Dally, and Clinton County Commissioners Angela Harding, Jeff Snyder and Jim Russo for the ribbon cutting in front of the new tourism sign.

Rosamilia began this project earlier this year, in the hopes of bringing more tourism to the Lock Haven area, sharing, “We are hoping that besides Hyner View, we can create the next number one spot for people to take a photo,” which was unanimously accepted by the board of supervisors at a previous meeting.

The placement of the sign was chosen to highlight the view overlooking the river with the Clinton County Courthouse in the back, creating the perfect focus for the location’s beautiful sunsets.

Rosamilia was unable to attend the unveiling yesterday morning but sent along a thank you letter that was read aloud by Coleman.

Rosamilia expressed her thanks to the community and Woodward Township for providing a location for the sign, as this is a project that she has taken on both professionally and personally to continue improving tourism to Clinton County over the last seven months.

A vote on the original idea of having a sign in the township was passed unanimously in April of this year, and the sign was purchased and delivered to the township before their September meeting.

The idea behind the sign is to have a central location that will allow the community and visitors to stop by for a photo and share their memories with #IHeartClintonCountyPA, #ExploreCCPA or #ExploreClintonCountyPA on social media to highlight our area.

The oversized letters are seen across different counties and areas all over the world, but now Clinton County has its very own to share, a project that Rosamilia says she is most proud of.

“When I first stepped into the role of Tourism Director, one of my goals was to bring something bold, fun and instantly recognizable to Clinton County — something that would celebrate who we are and invite visitors to share in that pride,” Rosamilia’s statement said.

Not only does this sign aim to bring more people into the town, it aims to give people a live story of the area.

“Share your photos, keep telling your stories and keep showing off the beauty and experiences Clinton County offers. This place is worth it,” Rosamilia said. “Its people, landscapes and small-town charm are worth it. And together, we can continue to grow a destination that welcomes new travelers, supports local businesses and celebrates the community we love.”

“They want to see what locals see, feel what locals feel, and explore the places you capture through your lens,” said Rosamilia.

Funding for the sign came through Hotel Tax Funding which is used to promote tourism.
