ANDREW BATSCHELET
MILL HALL — A Lock Haven man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly brandishing a gun and threatening victims during separate incidents at a Walmart and a Weis Markets store in late November, according to police and the county district attorney.
Andrew W. Batschelet, 33, of Lock Haven, is accused of brandishing a handgun at the Walmart Supercenter in Bald Eagle Township on Nov. 23, according to the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office.
At approximately 9 p.m., Batschelet allegedly entered the store screaming while in possession of a pocketknife and a handgun.
According to police, Batschelet recognized the victim from a previous altercation and allegedly asked, “Do you want to finish this?” while brandishing the pocketknife. He is then accused of pushing the victim, who took Batschelet to the ground.
At that point, Batschelet allegedly pointed a silver Phoenix Arms HP22 handgun at the victim and said, “I’m going to kill you,” according to the district attorney’s office.
The victim’s two sons were present and witnessed the altercation.
Batschelet allegedly pointed the gun toward the victim’s head and punched him in the face before fleeing the scene on foot.
State police at Lamar charged Batschelet with felony aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and simple assault. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 1, 2025.
Four days later, on Nov. 27 at 3:41 p.m., Batschelet allegedly intimidated three individuals, including a juvenile, at Weis Markets, 315 W. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, according to the Lock Haven Police Department.
Witnesses told police that Batschelet engaged in a heated verbal dispute with the victims and repeatedly yelled for his spouse to bring him a gun from his vehicle. He also allegedly made gestures suggesting he was reaching for a firearm in his waistband.
Batschelet now faces additional charges of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
