Students from Renovo Elementary School no doubt went home full of holiday spirit after a day filled with Christmas related surprises from their teachers and staff. Thanks to their efforts, they had students gleaming with excitement as they head off into a long holiday break. From the moment they got off the bus festive spirit greeted them, with assistant Principal Mike Poorman perched up on the roof in his elf costume, waving to all of the excited and — in some cases — bewildered students. Classroom parties followed that lasted throughout the day as they received school-wide visits from the Grinch, adopted school mascot Harry the Hynerpeton and, of course, Santa Claus, the latter of whose presence caused an immediate cheerful reaction from the students.
