Clinton County celebrates America250PA Kick Off on Jan. 28

LOCK HAVEN — Clinton County will officially launch its participation in the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th birthday with the America250PA-Clinton County Kick Off Celebration, to be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Clinton County Courthouse, 230 E. Water St., Lock Haven.

This historic event marks the beginning of Clinton County’s involvement in the United States Semiquincentennial, commemorating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The public is invited to attend and take part in this once-in-a-generation milestone. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Kick Off Celebration is part of America250PA’s statewide initiative, which launched the Semiquincentennial year with a tour of all 67 Pennsylvania counties, highlighting local history, community pride and the ongoing story of the Commonwealth’s role in shaping the nation.

“America’s 250th anniversary is not just about reflecting on our past, but about recognizing who we are today and imagining what we will build together for the future,” organizers shared. “Clinton County’s theme, ‘250 Years and Still Growing,’ honors our history while inviting residents to help shape the next chapter.”

The evening will recognize Clinton County’s unique contributions to Pennsylvania and the nation and will serve as a call to action for individuals, schools, organizations and municipalities to participate in upcoming America250PA programs, projects and commemorative events throughout 2026.

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn how to get involved and help ensure Clinton County’s stories are included in this historic celebration. This is going to be an E.P.I.C. year.
