LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Camp Cadet program has officially begun recruitment efforts across local schools and is now accepting applications for its 2026 boys’ and girls’ camps.
This year marks an exciting change, as Camp Cadet will be held at a new location, Lamar Lighthouse, allowing for the return of traditional camp activities such as evening campfires and barrel water races in partnership with local fire departments.
The 2026 camp sessions are scheduled as follows:
— Girls Camp: June 15-20.
— Boys Camp: June 22-27.

Both sessions are overnight camps.
Camp Cadet is designed to foster positive relationships between the youth of Clinton County and local law enforcement officers and first responders. Through a structured and engaging environment, cadets gain firsthand insight into public service while developing respect, teamwork and leadership skills.
The program emphasizes self-discipline and personal responsibility, mirroring aspects of a police academy experience while ensuring a fun and memorable week for all participants.
Camp Cadet is open to boys and girls ages 11 to 15 who reside in Clinton County or attend a Clinton County school. The cost to attend is $20, making the program accessible to families throughout the community.
Due to the camp’s physically active schedule, applicants should be in good physical condition.
