KC approves separation agreement, release of super from contract

MILL HALL — The Keystone Central School District Board of Directors unanimously approved a separation agreement and release of Superintendent Dr. Francis Redmon from his current five-year contract.

The approval came during a special meeting on April 2. Redmon’s final date with the district is June 30, 2026.

A large portion of the 10 minute meeting was spent in silence as Board Member Dr. Bill Baldino reviewed the agreement. Baldino told the board he had issues accessing the agreement digitally, so he was given a hard copy by Board President Elisabeth Lynch.

The decision to enter into the separation agreement and end Redmon’s contract — which was set to expire in 2028 — comes after the announcement from a Wisconsin school district that its board elected to hire Redmon to serve as its superintendent.

The post, shared by the Tomah Area School District on March 31, indicated he would begin his duties there on July 1, 2026.

According to information on the district’s website, it is roughly 100 miles away from metropolitan areas such as Madison and 170 miles from Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Attempts by The Express to obtain a copy of the agreement for review were unsuccessful as of press time Monday night.

Keystone Central’s board will hold its work session this Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is held in person in the Administration Board Room and is available online by visiting the district’s website.

Starting at $3.69/week.
