Stephanie Borowicz (R-76) confirmed a $1.5 million grant was awarded to Clinton County business Snavely’s Mill Inc. through Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). Average 30-year US mortgage rate climbs to 6.55%, highest level in nearly a year

The average long-term U.S. mortgage rate climbed this week to its highest level in nearly a year, driving up borrowing costs for prospective homebuyers. The benchmark 30-year fixed rate mortgage rate rose to 6.55% from 6.49% last week, mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday. One year ago, the average rate was 6.75%. LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, will be meeting on Tuesday, July 21, from 1-3 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Lou Bernard, a local historian, will start the session with a talk on what was happening in our local area 250 years ago in 1776 during the birth of our Nation. KC board tables purchase of laptop carts

MILL HALL — After questions arose from members of staff during public comment, the Keystone Central School District Board of Directors tabled the purchase of 35 laptop storage carts for the 2026-2027 school year. The item was moved to the top of the board’s agenda at its voting session Thursday night when Tyler Barth, principal at Robb Elementary School, and Ashley Gilmore, a teacher at Woodward Elementary School, spoke about the proposed purchase.
