Motorcycle crash with bear

LOCK HAVEN — Police reported a single motorcycle accident resulting in possible injury in the area of 912 Renovo Road, Allison Township, on Aug. 17, according to state police at Lamar.

At 5:26 a.m., Stanley B. Duffield, 60, of North Bend, was traveling north along Renovo Road at 45 mph when a black bear entered the north travel lane, police said.

Duffield engaged his brakes to stop but was unable to in time, colliding with the bear and sliding 30 yards before coming to a stop, police said.

Lock Haven EMS transported Duffield to UPMC Williamsport for possible injuries, police said.

Hit and run

RENOVO — State police of Lamar reported a hit and run along Tamarack Road on Aug. 27 involving a single car.

At 3:30 a.m., Kevin L. Knox, 52, of Renovo, was traveling south along Tamarack Road when his 2002 Ford left the east side of the road for an unknown reason, police said.

The Ford traveled down a small embankment before striking a tree and coming to a stop, resulting in damage to the car, police said.

Knox then fled the scene before later being identified, police said.

Commercial vehicle rear ended

LOCK HAVEN — No injuries were reported by state police at Lamar following an accident that occurred near mile marker 180 along Interstate 80, according to police.

At 2:38 p.m., on Aug. 19, a 2005 Freightliner, driven by Angel E. Mendoza Mora, of Clifton, N.J., rear ended a 2018 Freightliner, driven by Abdiaziz A. Abtidon, 38, of Portland, Maine, police said.

Mendoza Mora was cited for following too closely, police said.
