Bellefonte woman accused of $1M theft over multiple years
Carri Roan
BELLEFONTE — Spring Township Police Department charged a Bellefonte woman with felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and criminal use of a communication facility on Nov. 12 following an investigation into missing funds at a local business.
According to a release from the department, the investigation into Carri Roan began in September “when large shortfalls were located in the financials of a local business.”
Through the investigation, police revealed the theft from this business was in excess of $1 million and occurred over a number of years.
“STPD’s investigation revealed that the obligations of the business were fulfilled and no services were affected other than the lack of revenue for the business,” police said.
A preliminary hearing for Roan is scheduled for Dec. 10.
