False alarm calls
LOCK HAVEN — AVI Food Systems, located at 41 Mill St., Lock Haven, was cited on Jan. 9 for allowing four false alarms to occur within a 12 month period, according to state police at Lamar.
Harassment
HOWARD — A 37-year-old Howard man was charged with harassment around 9 p.m. Feb. 6 following an incident involving a 32-year-old Howard man along East Main Street in Howard Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Struck utility pole
SNOW SHOE — Anthony R. Derkacs, 20, of Chalfont, Pa., was charged in relation to driving on roadways laned for traffic after losing control of a 2024 Volkswagen Golf and striking a utility pole on West Sycamore Road in Snow Shoe Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said the crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Feb. 6.
Neither Derkacs nor his passengers were injured, but the vehicle was towed.
Hit-and-run investigation
MILLHEIM — Charges are pending as state police at Rockview investigate a hit-and-run crash on Penns Valley Road near its intersection with Green Grove Road shortly after midnight on Jan. 28.
Police said a vehicle traveled down an embankment and continued forward, striking a guide wire attached to a West Penn Power utility pole and shearing off the top. Airbags deployed, and the operator exited the vehicle and left the scene without contacting police.
Surveillance footage from the Penns Valley School District identified the vehicle as a red Chevrolet Silverado with an unknown registration, according to police.

DUI arrest
JACKSONVILLE — A 20-year-old Scranton man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after state police at Rockview responded to a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 80 west in Marion Township just before 7 a.m. on Feb. 4.
Police said the driver was operating a 2012 black Toyota van pulling a container trailer.
During the police investigation, the officer saw alcohol in plain view in the vehicle.
Struck guide rail
MILL HALL — A 2018 Nissan Rogue, driven by Brandi A. Teneyck, 49, of Jersey Shore, sustained disabling damage following an accident that occurred on Jan. 1 at approximately 2:51 a.m., according to state police at Lamar.
Teneyck was traveling along state Route 150 downhill when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a guide rail on the right shoulder of the roadway, police said.
The vehicle became stuck on top of the guide rail, police said.
Commercial vehicle accident
LOGANTON — A crash occurred on Jan. 2 at approximately 2:07 a.m., as a 2025 Nissan Sentra, driven by Timmie J. Alexander, 60, of Indianola, Iowa, was traveling east on Interstate 80 when he left his lane of travel after dozing off, according to state police at Lamar.
After leaving his lane of travel, Alexander struck the rear end of a 2021 Kenworth T980, driven by Shawn A. Lisiewicz, 33, of Harford, Pa., police said.
No injuries were reported.
