Roadway obstruction
causes damage
LOGANTON — A single vehicle was involved in an accident on Oct. 30 at approximately 2:52 a.m. while traveling east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 191.9, according to state police at Lamar.
Camden L. Shepherd, 20, of Pittsburgh, was traveling in the left lane when he struck an object on the roadway with his 2009 Ford Focus, police said.
Shepherd continued traveling on the road for approximately one mile when the vehicle’s temperature gauges showed signs of overheating, police said.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the undercarriage, police said.
Hit-and-run
MILL HALL — A hit and run crash occurred as a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz was parked in the parking lot of 212 Danis St., Mill Hall, on Oct. 18 at approximately 12:28 a.m., according to state police at Lamar.
The owner of the vehicle drove home and observed damage to the front end of the car, police said.
It appeared an unknown vehicle backed into the front end of the Santa Cruz, police said.
No solvability factors were present, police said.
Failure to yield
RAUCHTOWN — Two vehicles were involved in an accident along Rauchtown Road on Jan. 8, state police at Lamar said.
At about 8 a.m., a 2000 Ford F350, driven by Robert O. Wheeland, Jr., 77, of Jersey Shore, was traveling south on the roadway when it was struck by a 2024 Subaru Ascent, driven by Jeryl Jeen L. Keeler, 69, of Jersey Shore, who was turning left from Rauch Lane onto the road, police said.
According to police, Keeler did not yield to oncoming traffic prior to attempting the turn.
Wheeland struck the driver’s side rear of Keeler’s vehicle causing it to spin out to a final rest, police said.
In an attempt to avoid the collision, Wheeland struck mailboxes on the west side of the road, after which he left the east bound portion of the roadway and struck a chimney in the area of 3100 Rauchtown Road, police said.
Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled final rest with disabling damage, police said.
Simple trespassing
AVIS — Amanda Audet, 42, was cited with simple trespassing following an incident on Jan. 2 at approximately 1:44 a.m., according to state police at Lamar.
Audet allegedly went to a property along Prospect Avenue uninvited, caused a disturbance and refused to leave, police said.
After being cited, Audet was escorted off the property, police said.
Retail theft
MILL HALL — Connor James Borner, 24, of Lock Haven, was charged with one count of retail theft through District Judge Heidi Wright’s office following an incident at Walmart along Hogan Boulevard on Jan. 2 at approximately 3:15 p.m., according to state police at Lamar.
Company theft
ROTE — A crime against Key Energy Services occurred on Jan. 1 as a former employee fraudulently sold company assets, according to state police at Lamar.
The former employee, whose name was not listed, allegedly sold 43 frac tanks to entities for personal financial gain and without knowledge or permission from the company, police said.
Drug possession
MILL HALL — On Dec. 28 at approximately 3:02 p.m., state police at Lamar conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 80 West in Porter Township, police said.
Upon further investigation, the operator, a 24-year-old male of Columbus, Ohio, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The operator was taken into custody pending a legal blood draw, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Harassment
MILL HALL — State police at Lamar responded to a report of a domestic incident on Jan. 5 at approximately 7:50 p.m. at a residence along Whiterock Lane in Mill Hall, police said.
Through an investigation it was determined that an argument occurred between two parties that turned physical, resulting in one party being charged with harassment-physical contact, disorderly conduct, harassment-course of conduct and public drunkenness, police said.
Identity theft
BELLEFONTE — A 71-year-old Bellefonte woman who lives on Cottage Lane in Walker Township reported her identity was stolen Jan. 20, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said an unknown individual posing as a bank employee called the woman and told her there were fraudulent charges on her account. The caller requested her personal identifying information, which she provided, police said.
No theft of funds was reported.
Two-vehicle hit and run
BELLEFONTE — Charges are pending following a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Interstate 80 westbound the afternoon of Feb. 4, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said that around 5:22 p.m., an unidentified driver traveling through a work zone in the left lane failed to maintain lane position, crossed into the right lane and struck a 2011 Kia Sorento driven by Kathleen L. Livergood, 60, of Moshannon, according to police and a witness to the crime.
Livergood complained of shoulder pain following the incident, but declined EMS treatment.
Bad weather causes accident
MILESBURG — Andrew J. Brodsky, 22, of Lumberton, N.J., was charged with driving at an unsafe speed after crashing his 2013 Dodge Dart at 2:29 p.m. Feb. 6 on Runville Road in Boggs Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said Brodsky was negotiating a right-hand curve during a snowstorm when he lost control of the vehicle. He attempted to regain control but overcorrected and struck a guide rail with the front end of the car.
Brodsky was uninjured.
Identity theft
BELLEFONTE — A 47-year-old woman who lives on Chapel Hill Circle in Spring Township reported her identity was stolen Jan. 20, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said an unknown actor posing as an employer offered a graphic design job to the victim on LinkedIn. Over the course of a text only Zoom meeting, the victim allegedly provided personal information to the caller.
No theft of funds was reported.
