Driver flees crash scene
SNOW SHOE — An unidentified driver struck a 2025 Volvo VNL760 while traveling east on Interstate 80 in Snow Shoe Township at 5:12 p.m. on March 2, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said the driver did not stop following the crash. No injuries were reported.
Woman scammed on Facebook Marketplace
MILESBURG — On March 4, a 42-year-old woman from Milesburg was reportedly scammed out of $800 by someone using the name Anita Thompson, according to state police at Rockview. Thompson allegedly was selling a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe on Facebook Marketplace, police said.
As of March 9, there are no leads in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call PSP Rockview at 814-355-7545.
Truck collision while passing
MILESBURG — Sarabjit Singh, 38, of Parlin, N.J., was charged with following too closely after the 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer he was driving westbound on Interstate 80 in Boggs Township collided with a 2024 Ram box truck while attempting to pass at about 1:30 a.m. on March 1, according to state police at Rockview.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. The box truck’s driver and a passenger reported possible minor injuries and were transported by Bellefonte EMS to Mt. Nittany Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
Icy road causes crash
JULIAN — Stephen M. Frank, 57, of Philipsburg, lost control of the 2020 Ford F-350 he was driving while attempting to pass another vehicle at about 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23 on Steele Hollow Road in Huston Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said the truck slipped on the icy roadway and struck the rear window of the other vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Sienna.
No injuries were reported, and Frank was not cited, police said.
Teen charged with
drug possession
WINGATE — A 16-year-old girl from Clarence was charged with drug possession after she was found with a THC vape pen at Bald Eagle Area High School in Boggs Township just after noon on Feb. 10, according to state police at Rockview.
Teen charged with assault
SPRING MILLS –A 17-year-old boy from Spring Mills was charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly engaging in simple assault by physical menace, according to state police at Rockview.
The incident, which occurred during the evening of March 5 on Penns Valley Road in Gregg Township, remains under investigation, police said.
