Boalsburg man, father of ex-NHL player jailed for falsifying records in bankruptcy case

WILLIAMSPORT — A Centre County man, who is the father of a retired National Hockey League player, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for falsifying records in bankruptcy. U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann made note of the hockey connection Tuesday when he sentenced John J. Johnson, II, 73, of Boalsburg. Medical emergency causes crash, driver charged ZION — A 63-year-old driver from Canton, Pa., suffered a medical emergency while driving on Nittany Valley Drive in Walker Township on March 1 at 3:16 p.m., causing him to leave his lane, drive into a ditch and strike a tree with his 2022 Ford F-350, according to state police at Rockview. Two dead in weekend Spring Township house fire

BELLEFONTE —Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of a Saturday morning house fire in Spring Township, the Centre County coroner said Sunday. According to the Spring Township Police Department, emergency responders were dispatched around 9:15 a.m. to the 100 block of Mulbarger Lane in Spring Township for a reported building fire.
