PHILLIPSBURG — A man died of self-inflicted injuries after a standoff with law enforcement in Philipsburg that lasted nearly 12 hours, state police confirmed Thursday. The man, who has not been officially identified by authorities but has been named by news outlets as Ian M. Stephenson, barricaded himself inside an apartment on North Second Street around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after police arrived to serve a warrant for child sex abuse charges.
