God has given us His Word

The Scripture 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

In John 17:17, Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

We are so blessed to have the Bible in our hands. God’s Word is infallible. Because it is the truth, it never changes; it is always true. We know who God is through His Word. We know about the creation and fall of man because of sin in the Garden of Eden less than 10,000 years ago. We also know that the problems in this world, the wickedness in our society, and people’s propensity to continue to sin and be separated from God’s love and plan is due to that sin nature.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God’s Word not only explains the problem of the human race, it also gives us the solution. Jesus said in Matthew 4:17, ” Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Romans 5:8 lovingly tells us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:19 says, “For as by one man’s [Adam’s] disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s [Jesus] obedience many will be made righteous.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

God has made a way for us to be saved and to be delivered from the wrath to come. He has made a way for us to overcome the sin nature by being born again and receiving a new nature, so that we could walk in newness of life and please God and not live in sin.

In John 14:6 Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:9).

God has given us His Word, The Bible, to show us the way of salvation. He has given us His Word so that we could walk in His ways. God has given us His Word to know right from wrong. He has also given us His Word so that we can be transformed into His likeness and walk in the fear of the Lord. His Word is true and is eternal. God’s Word speaks to every generation; it never changes. His Word will judge us righteously and cause us to be accountable to an everlasting God that never fails.

Jesus promises, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:25). John 10:35 says, ” and the Scripture cannot be broken.”

Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Psalm 119:89: “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.”
