Pathway to Christ Church exceeds goals in collection for special cause

PHOTO PROVIDED Pathway to Christ Church recently collected 1,222 pill bottles as part of an outreach mission which looks to improve medical care for developing countries and care for the environment.

McELHATTAN — Over the last months, The Pathway to Christ Church collected pill bottles as part of a community project. The collection of bottles is a part of their Outreach ministries. This donation is for the ongoing ministry of the Matthew 25: Ministries, out of Ohio. The mission of M25M is to fulfill the dual needs of improving medical care in developing countries and caring for our environment.

There is quite a process in preparing the bottles for shipment to the M25M destination.

First is the painstaking task of removing the prescription labels on each bottle, leaving no sticky glue residue behind. Then, each bottle and lid are thoroughly washed in hot soapy water, rinsed and dried. Bottles are ready and the lids put on, then separated by size and placed in transparent plastic bags and shipped to M25M.

Last year the congregation collected 503 bottles. This year they superseded their collection by 1,222 bottles accumulating a total this year of 1,725 bottles.

As part of the church’s outreach ministry, the congregation forever strives to do God’s work.

Starting at $3.69/week.
